The Student Experience at Al-Hamra Academy

Whether just starting off in our Montessori (Pre-School through Pre-Kindergarten) or getting ready to graduate from 8th Grade, Al-Hamra is alive and rich with programs which support academic excellence, team-building and friendship, creativity and exploration, healthy playtime and a strong foundation with moral framework.

At Al-Hamra, mentorship between Teachers and Students, Middle School and Elementary Students in-class and after-school, create a supportive atmosphere where Students feel safe and encouraged. Such activities as English and Arabic reading buddies promote the joy of learning. Field trips allow Students an opportunity to explore, have fun and learn while making cognitive connections with the classroom topics.

With the help of many dedicated Parent and Teacher volunteers, Al-Hamra's Clubs and Study Groups appeal to all ages, strengthening our Vision and Mission which is to "promote academic excellence and apply the rich Islamic tradition of intellectual, moral, and spiritual learning... [and] to nurture future leaders who are proud of their identity and contribute responsibly in a global society."

Student Life is not limited to what happens on-campus but extends into the neighboring towns and greater community.  Through community outreach programs, charitable activities and good deeds, our Students get involved in civic life and being good to the neighbor. Some of these projects include: food drives, clothing drives, park clean-ups, "coins for construction" for our town library, volunteer and other assistance to Helping Hand for Relief and Development, and supporting our local mosques.

One of our goals at Al-Hamra Academy is for each student to develop a love for and an understanding of God and Islam.

An important part of Student Life at Al-Hamra Academy is participation in various Clubs & Sports.

Both Student Life and academic curriculum are enriched by Field Trips in-town, in the community, and to the cities of Worcester and Boston.

Throughout the year, Al-Hamra Students participate in various activities aimed at charitable giving and helping others in need through volunteering.
