Asalaamu Alaikum!
I am so fortunate to work at Al-Hamra Academy as our Curriculum Coordinator. Al-Hamra Academy is an amazing community of dedicated educators, students, parents, and volunteers! I have been an educator since 1994. After teaching for 18 years, alhamdulillah, I transitioned to mentoring and coaching teachers while developing assessments and curriculum. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Master's of Science in Education and Professional Development. I am currently pursuing a post-graduate Education Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) in Instructional Leadership. I am currently licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
My primary roles are in the area of curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional development, and strategic planning. Working together with all stakeholders, my goal is to enhance an already vibrant curriculum with Islamic tradition and 21st Century skills that each student needs to be successful.
At Al-Hamra Academy, we collectively examine our Vision and Mission to influence our decision-making.
We are motivated by our religious traditions thereby promoting scholarly excellence, compassion, and responsibility. Our values of quality, integrity, and teamwork guide our daily decision-making.
The needs of our Students guide the development of our School Improvement Plan and Technology Plan. These plans help us determine our resource allocation, professional development, and daily practices.
We aim to develop our Students’ creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills. All in all, empowering our Students with the content and skills they need to succeed academically and socially will prepare them for a successful future and inspire them to make positive contributions in society.
You are most welcome to share your suggestions or concerns regarding the development of our Curriculum. I may be contacted at mariamh@alhamraacademy.org. I look forward to hearing from you!
Jazakum Allahu Khairun for your ongoing support.
Kind regards,
Mariam Hashmi
