Deen

One of our goals at Al-Hamra Academy is for each student to develop a love for and an understanding of God and Islam. Integrated into our curriculum and throughout our daily routine, we help our students to know, understand, and practice the beliefs, etiquettes and basic principles of Islam. We strive to nurture the young minds to be mindful of their faith and understand their role in the society at large.

Starting the Day with Bismillah

Every day begins with Morning Announcement at 8:00 AM with Students (KG & Up) reciting al-Fatiha followed by a short surah. Everyone in school stops and recites together. Every day the school motto Stay S.H.A.R.P. reminder is given.

Throughout the year, the Five Pillars are focused on,  providing students with examples in daily life.

During the school day the students pray the Dhuhr Salah together upstairs in our Musalla and at the end of each week, the school gathers for Friday Jumuah.

Boys Grade 4 & Up are taught how to give the Adhan and then have opportunity to lead the school.  All the students throughout the school repeat the Duaa that goes after the Adhan.

Boys Grade 7 - 8 learn how to prepare a topic for Khutbah and take opportunity throughout the year to give the Friday Sermon.  Several Fridays throughout the year, a Youth Leader comes to Al-Hamra to give the Khutbah which all students attend.

Grades KG - Grade 3 pray Dhuhr out loud to ensure they know what to say.

During Daylight Savings, the school prays Asr before dismissal.  After-School Study Groups and Clubs also include time for Asr and Maghrib Salah.

All faiths are welcome. Qur'an and Islamic Studies are integrated into the curriculum at Al-Hamra and we welcome students of any faith looking for an academic foundation centered around strong morals and ethics.
