On Thursday, May 4th, 7th Grade students took a field trip to Helping Hand USA, New England In-Kind Center to complete their work with this year's community outreach through a school-wide Annual Food Drive. With the donations and support of Al-Hamra parents, students and community members, 7th Grade was able to exceed our goal of 75 food boxes and raised enough money to sponsor 112 food boxes! 4th & 5th Graders had an visit from Vita Murrow, author of The Whale. In the story, "there is a legend that a Great Spotted Whale lives in the ocean, although a sighting fifty years ago was never corroborated. Now two young whale watchers each set out to find the whale, one armed with sound-recording equipment, the other with a camera.
